The graveyard of underused business software is enormous. Every business I audit has at least three tools they are paying for and not using, and at least two tools they are using for things they were never designed for. This is not a technology problem. It is a diagnosis problem.
Most businesses approach digital transformation by asking: what software should we buy? The right question is: where is our business leaking time, accuracy, and money?
The workflow audit
Before recommending any technology, I spend time mapping what is actually happening in the business. In almost every business, this audit reveals the same categories of waste: manual data transfer, invisible bottlenecks, disconnected tools, and missing visibility.
The technology follows the workflow
Once you know exactly where the problems are, selecting the right tools becomes significantly easier. You are no longer evaluating software based on features. You are evaluating it based on whether it specifically solves the documented problem. Start with the highest-priority problem and deploy the minimum viable solution. Get that working. Measure the improvement. Then move to the next problem.
